Liquid rubber sealer is vastly used to make different waterproof materials such as wood or concrete. Liquid rubber is non-toxic, making it safe for indoor or outdoor uses. Liquid sealer is one of the handy materials due to its broad applications, and you can use it to make different things waterproof.

The liquid sealer is water-based content and can be used without the need of any solvent or VOCs. The liquid rubber sealer is also used to waterproof concrete roofs. There are many other benefits of rubber sealer except waterproofing, but it is also used to increase the life of a building and keeps the building material safe from corrosion and rusting.

The following are things that are required for applying a liquid sealer to make your flat roof building waterproof:

  1. Brush
  2. Squeegee
  3. Roller or Airless Sprayer

Follow the following steps to start applying rubber seal to your roof:

Prepare the surface:

The very first step of waterproofing your roof is to prepare the surface so that paint could be applied. Clean the whole roof and make sure that the corners and cracks are also cleaned thoroughly. Dust particles may affect the performance of the rubber sealer. The surface should be dry as well because it can disturb the sealer composition.

Mixing:

Prepare the rubber sealer gallons to start waterproofing the building. Mix up the rubber sealer with solvent or chemical if required. Use the mixing rod with a drill machine to mix up the paint, mix it for at least 15minutes. With a better composition, the results and benefits are even greater.

Spreading and Applying:

Start from side of the roof, and spread the whole mixed gallon. Now use rollers to spread it evenly on the roof, make sure that the corners are filled. If you are using a sprayer to spray sealer, try to apply sealer row by row. That will provide better bonding and even surface level . don’t spread the all liquid sealer at a time; it may be difficult to spread all over as the sealer will start drying.

Touch Ups:

The liquid rubber sealer requires 9 to 10 to dry completely; you can apply touch ups after that period. Touching up the sealer on the same day is very difficult as you will leave your shoe print on the roof that can become a cause of water seepage.
